Florence Musiime Umurungi
MUSIIME UMURUNGI Florence is an experienced professional and food systems scientist with over 20 years of success leading innovation in high-growth agricultural and non-profit organizations. Her expertise spans agrifood systems, industrial innovation, product safety, and regulatory functions.She currently serves as the Executive Secretary of the Rwanda National Dairy Platform (RNDP) and is the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Agro-Processing Trust Corporation (APTC).
In addition, she works as a dairy and food safety consultant, overseeing the entire value chain.
Her previous roles include working with the Rwanda Dairy Competitiveness Program II (USAID-funded) as a National Milk Quality Specialist, serving as Food Safety Manager at Inyange Industries Ltd., and holding the position of Head of Animal Products Certification Services at the Rwanda Bureau of Standards (RBS).
Her professional experience in public service includes working in food processing industries, government regulatory agencies, and non-governmental organizations engaged in the development of the Rwandan dairy value chain. She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Technology and Management, and has completed several professional trainings
