Ariong Abbey is a regional dairy value chains professional and an Agribusiness development practitioner with over 21 years’ experience in designing, modelling and implementing market driven, investment focused and enterprise development sustainable solutions for twenty three (23) private & public sector initiatives across sixteen (16) countries in Eastern, Southern and West Africa to support economic inclusion of the rural poor, market & business growth, value addition and value chain development. This includes seventeen (17) years in International Agri-enterprise development, 2 years in market based Commercial banking and 2 years in Agricultural Micro-finance.

His core competence is his knowledge and understanding of the principles and requirements of agricultural producer driven value chains and agribusiness systems, including challenges to finance & market integration. He has worked with and maintained outreach/connectivity to donors, funding institutions, policy makers, key players and service providers who add value, deliver development goals and ensure sustainability of interventions to the benefit of target beneficiaries/communities.

Coupled with a strong background and extensive experience in M&E systems, Ariong has developed and implemented several successful market development models, enterprise approaches and strategic solutions for agricultural value chain development.
