Dr. Edson Mangoya Chifamba
Dr. Edson Mangoya Chifamba is an internationally recognized dairy scientist, academic, and expert in dairy value chain development, dedicated to advancing sustainable dairy systems across Africa. He holds a BSc in Biochemistry, MSc in Dairy Biotechnology (Netherlands), an MBA, and a PhD in Dairy Technology. As Founder and Chief Visionary Officer of PanAfro Dairy, Dr. Chifamba drives innovation and inclusive growth in Africa’s dairy sector. He also serves as an Associate Professor in dairy, specializing in dairy production, processing, and value chain development, having lectured at universities across Africa and the Netherlands.
His work spans research, publications, and large-scale initiatives in collaboration with international institutions such as the United Nations, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the European Union. Currently based in Canada, he focuses on climate-smart dairy production and innovative feed solutions—like aquatic biomass and seaweed additives—to reduce methane emissions and enhance productivity. Through PanAfro Dairy and his research, Dr. Chifamba champions sustainable dairy development, empowering farmers, supporting food security, and promoting environmental resilience across the continent.
