Dr. Faith A. Manditsera is a Senior Lecturer and Food Scientist in the Department of Food Processing Technology at the Harare Institute of Technology, Zimbabwe. She has over 15 years of academic and research expertise in the field of food science. Her research focuses on sustainable food systems and nutrition security in Africa. Her PhD from Wageningen University and Research focused on alternative proteins for nutrition security. She integrates food safety, nutritional analysis, and value-chain innovation of underutilised foods to address protein and micronutrient deficiencies in low-resource settings.

She has collaborated extensively with academic institutions, government and development partners to translate scientific evidence into practical, scalable solutions providing timely and evidence-based insights into the opportunities and real-world challenges shaping Africa’s food systems. Dr Manditsera has been a member of the technical committee for the Standards Association of Zimbabwe, focusing on Milk and Milk Products Standards, since 2013.
